In order to enhance information on the Nigerian financial services sector, EFInA will undertake a number of research initiatives.
Our research findings will:
· Provide regular, credible statistics on financial needs and usage by all Nigerians
· Offer in-depth qualitative analysis of financial patterns and financial service usage by poor households
· Measure access to and demand for essential financial products including savings, credit, insurance, payments and remittances services
· Establish EFInA as an information repository for accurate and comprehensive information on the financial sector in Nigeria |
Our main research tool is the EFInA Access to Finance Survey. It is a demand side survey that is nationwide and covers over 20,000 consumers.
The survey is conducted every two years and aims to:
· Establish credible benchmarks and indicators of current financial penetration in Nigeria
· Document usage of financial products across both formal and informal sectors from an urban and rural perspective
· Explore financial behaviour, attitudes and interests; quality of life; household financial management; attitudes to the use of technology
· Provide insights into regulatory and market obstacles to growth and innovation
·Highlight opportunities for policy reform and innovation in product development |
