CBN lauds EFInA over survey on financial sector; saving habits
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has commended Enhancing Financial Innovation and Access (EFInA) on the current survey it conducted on financial sector aimed at improving access to financial products and services for all Nigerians as part of the FSS 2020 strategy of the Federal Government.
Speaking at the workshop on Financial Access in Nigeria organised by EFInA, Deputy Governor, Financial Sector Surveillance of CBN, Mr Tunde Lemo said, “Despite our modest efforts, one key area that has been assuming increasing concern is the absence of requisite baseline and similar data on microfinance issues.  Adequate data is vital to planning and intervention by stakeholders in tracking the progress towards achieving the target”.

CBN Partners EFInA on Pro-poor Financial Devt
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has said that it was partnering with Enhancing Financial Innovation and Access (EFInA) to promote pro-poor financial sector development in the country in the area of generating relevant data on microfinance matters.
Speaking at the launch of EFInA’s “Access to Finance Survey” in Abuja, CBN’s Deputy Governor, Financial Sector Surveillance, Mr Tunde Lemo, expressed optimism that the initiative of the DFID through the EFInA project would support the banking regulatory authority to generate relevant data on microfinance.
Lemo said that the launch would usher in future areas of collaboration on data generation, storage, analysis and dissemination between this project and the CBN.

EFInA’s survey will help achieve Vision 2020 – CBN
